ICMMA puts the pressure on and forges links with Europe

The successful Industrial Cleaning Machinery Manufacturers (ICMMA) Technical Committee earlier this year had Eco Legislation 2017 central to its agenda and gave members direct access to the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and the power to influence the UK voting at an EU level. Mike Walker, Head of Sustainable Energy Using Product Policy at DECC confirmed that the government were keen to listen to businesses and that working through strategic associations such as ICMMA was an efficient way of doing that.

ICMMA continues its re-launch with the support and re-investment of The Building Futures Group. This approach will see ICMMA retain its identity and broaden its reach with relevant associations and organisations. An expansion in membership is also expected as companies who manufacture, produce or distribute machinery and equipment to the contract cleaning and facilities management industry are invited to participate.

The Summer ICMMA Technical Committee has been planned for 3rd July 2015 and is kindly being hosted by Kärcher UK at their Banbury Office. Kevin Webb, Senior Approvals Engineers at Numatic International and Chairman of the ICMMA Technical Committee said ‘We are looking forward to welcoming back existing ICMMA members and some new ones to the table as well as Charalambos Freed from the VDMA and EUnited. Charalambos is working with us to enable ICMMA to increase the industry representation, be a part of their panel of national associations and influence the writing of standards in the area of industrial cleaning machinery manufacture.’

To participate in the ICMMA Technical Committee members need to first be a paid up member of The Building Futures Group, the trade association and Sector Skills Council for Cleaning and Facilities Management. New members are welcome to come along to the Summer meeting on Friday 3rd July to see if ICMMA is for them.
